Using WinCapture - The Basics

Thank you for choosing WinCapture. WinCapture is the premier application to use for all of your screen capturing and recording needs. Whatever you can see on your screen, WinCapture will easily capture or record for your immediate use. Once you've taken your capture, WinCapture lets you edit, enhance, save, and use the capture for numerous tasks.

As companion applications, there are WinCapture Painter, WinCapture Wordpad, and WinCapture Explorer and WinCapture Screenpad. Although these applications are integrated with WinCapture, you can also launch and use any of them separately, either from the Tools menu within WinCapture or from the Windows Start menu (Start > All Programs > WinCapture 8.4.0).

WinCapture  

Capture Your Screen - It's perfect for capturing images and text that you want to include in your Help system, online tutorials, manuals, training handouts, presentations, marketing materials, Web pages, emails and more. 

With WinCapture screen capture, you can:

Record Your Screen Activity - It is truly powerful to teach and demonstrate visually, rather than through words alone. WinCapture screen recording will change the way you present, train and connect with your audience. WinCapture allows you to capture cursor movements, menu selections, pop-up windows, typing, and everything else you see on your screen. You can use ScreenDraw to draw on your desktop while you record a video-just like television sportscasters!

WinCapture Painter 

The WinCapture Painter is a great way to edit a screen capture after it is saved to a file, since Painter allows you to apply professional quality finishing touches to your images without having to take a capture. Editing options include flip, mirror, shear, rotate, crop, and cut. Adjust the color depth, or add text. Add custom edge effects such as drop shadow, torn edges, and enhancements such as arrows, cursors, lines, text, and much more.

WinCapture Explorer

WinCapture Explorer allows you to locate, view, and manage captures and multimedia files in thumbnail view.  In the next release, You can select multiple files to save, convert file formats, print, and email in batches.

WinCapture Wordpad allows you to edit text and rich text, and exports diagram or table to WinCapture Painter.

System Requirements

To run WinCapture, your system must meet these specifications:

Installing WinCapture from CD-ROM

The installation program wincapture_setup.exe installs WinCapture.

To install WinCapture from the CD-ROM:

  1. Start Windows.
  2. Insert the WinCapture CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. WinCapture Setup will automatically start when you close the drive.
  3. Follow the install prompts using the default options if desired.
  4. Once the install program has run, you can lunch WinCapture.

Note: If the setup program does not automatically start, perform the following steps:
1. Find the program named wincapture_setup.exe on the CD. Double-click it. WinCapture Setup starts.
2. Follow the setup wizard's instructions for installing the program.
3. Once the install program has run, you can lunch WinCapture.

Installing an Evaluation Copy of WinCapture from the WinCapture Web site

You can download an evaluation copy of WinCapture or purchase additional copies of WinCapture from our Web site. Go to www.wincapture.com and follow the directions for downloading a copy of the software. It's quick and easy!

Starting WinCapture

Go to Start > All Programs > WinCapture 8.4.0 > WinCapture.

Double-select the WinCapture icon located on the desktop: .

Note: WinCapture is installed in the WinCapture program group by default. It is stored elsewhere only if you specified another program group during installation.
